🤔 What are the roles and services?
The roles and services define your current freelancing practice(s) and are used to send call-outs. You can choose as many roles and services as you want but you will need at least one service per role in order to receive according job opportunities. You can think of it as "I am a role and I do service". Have a look at the examples below for more context: • I am a Photographer and I do Portrait Photography • I am a DJ and I do Electronic Music _• I am an **Illustrator
🤔 How do I get jobs?
You just have to sign up and fill in your creative freelancer profile with all your roles and services You will automatically receive an email or text message whenever you have matched with a call-out. You will then be able to apply for the job in your opportunity inbox. We match jobs based on roles, services and city, so make sure you have set up all of those in your settings.
📝 What kind of information should I give in my application?
The message box is a place for your to present yourself and explain to the client why you're the best match for the opportunity. Consider things such as: • Your unique skills • Point of view • Previous experience • Or any particularity that will make you stand out Good luck 🤗
🖼 Can I upload my portfolio somewhere?
You only need to upload examples of works when answering to an opportunity Fully aware that most creatives already have online portfolios in addition to social media accounts, we did not want you to have to maintain another portfolio platform. You can use the social media and website fields on your profile to link existing digital portfolios to your SSSHAKE profile. 🤔 Why am I not receiving opportunities?
There haven't been any call-outs that match your roles and services. Make sure to select all relevant roles and services to receive any and all call-outs that apply to your skills. If you haven't received any opportunities in while, be patient! We are sure they're on their way 🤗 Meanwhile, you can always send your own call-outs or help us grow the community by spreading the word to your network!
💰 What to consider when filling out your rate.
Bear in mind that the client's call-out contains a proposed budget range. You may quote your services within or outside this range. When quoting your rate, take into consideration the amount of work required and your level of expertise.
🖼 What are the relevant work examples in my application?
This space is dedicated to highlighting why you are the best fit for the job Every time to respond to a call-out, you have the opportunity to put the light on a maximum of three work you have done in the past. We created this section to facilitate the project matching for both sides. It allows freelancers to show they understood the brief and have worked on similar projects in the past. It speeds up the selection process for the person looking for a talent and makes sure they don't get lost
📍 What if I live between multiple cities?
Premium users will be able to add multiple cities. If you aren't a Premium user, you can simply update your city every time you travel.
✨ What do I do when I have been selected for a project?
Head to the chat in the project from your dashboard. Once the client has accepted your application, you are the selected freelancer for the project. You can begin your conversation with your client via the chat box to further clarify the brief and expectations. Be sure you and your client are on the same page regarding the timeline of the project and expected deliverables.
🖼 What kind of relevant examples should I include in my application?
The relevant examples in your application are here to highlight specific projects and works you have completed that directly relate to the call-out. They are there so the client can get a better idea of your style and your interpretation of the subject matter outlined in the brief. If you don't have any previous experience try to include other works that are as relevant as possible to this brief. 🔎 I can't find my role.
If your role doesn't appear in the search bar, try searching for alternative or related names to the role you are looking for. It may already exist under a different name. If you still can't find your role, you can request to create a new one, however you will also have to add relevant services within this new role. e.g. If you needed to create Photographer, you would have to add services, such as Event Photography, Lifestyle Photography, etc.
🤔 What should I do if I am being asked more than what the brief says?
Get in touch with us! We won't tolerate people abusing of the kindness of our community and you should never do work that you haven't been commissioned to do or not willing to do. If someone is asking you more than what was stated on the brief without offering you any monetary compensation, get in touch with us. We designed the platform to get better with every feedback we receive and we will gladly remove anyone who does not abide by our community house rules.
📍Can I apply for an opportunity if it's in another city than mine?
You receive opportunities that are in a 10 mile radius around your chosen location. You will only receive opportunities within this distance of your location, or opportunities that can be done remotely. However, you are free to change your location in your settings whenever you want (e.g. if you're travelling), and will then receive opportunities accordingly.
🤔 I received an email about a job opportunity but I can't see it.
We are really sorry about that. This could be happening because: You received multiple opportunities and can only see the first one. You will need to either accept or refuse it to see the others; Someone has already been chosen for the project If neither of the above applies to you, don't hesitate to get in touch with us through the chat.
